Palm Springs Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
|
The Palm Springs Codgers wasted an impressive 7.1-inning effort from starter Takashi Yamamoto, falling 1-0 to the Aurora Borealis at Elderberry Field. Héctor Gutiérrez earned save number 28 this season. The win puts Aurora at 66-65 this season.
Aurora relied on the hitting of Rocky Kowalski to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Borealis on top, 1-0. For the game, Kowalski had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The old adage is true," said Kowalski. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
