Black Bears Score Late, Top Light Blues, 5-2

Cambridge Grounds was the site of the home opener for the Cambridge Light Blues. The contest featured a prime matchup between Mike Russell of the visiting Chatham-Kent Canada Black Bears and Lawson Kin of the Light Blues. The final score was 5-2, the Black Bears getting the win. Mike Russell turned in the best performance.
The result might have been different for Chatham-Kent Canada, had it not been for Joseph Oulton, the 19-year old first baseman . Oulton stroked a run-scoring ground out in the top of the eighth inning to put Chatham-Kent Canada up, 3-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Mike is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Chatham-Kent Canada manager Ben Mayfield.
