Saint Petersburg Grounds was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Sacramento starter Mike Crabtree pitched well against the Victoria Orcas at Saint Petersburg Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1. Earning his 19th save for Sacramento was Lawrence Adams.
Miguel Romero, the slick-fielding shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Romero contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Sacramento up, 2-1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Sacramento manager Jason Doyle said.
Sacramento raised its record to 36-31 with the win.
