Coyotes Overcome Great Performance by Arredondo in Win
The Nezahualcoyotl Coyotes overcame a good performance by Merida first baseman Rubén Arredondo to knock off Merida, 8-6, at Ballpark of Nezahualcóyotl. Arredondo was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Víctor Meléndez earned the save for Nezahualcoyotl, his 1st of the year. The first-place Coyotes now have a win-loss record of 23-17.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman César Salgado came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Merida pitcher Manny Rodríguez, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Nezahualcoyotl on top, 8-6.

"Feels good to get the job done," Salgado said after the game.
