Zapopan Tags Leon with 7-5 Defeat
|
The Zapopan Torrenas trumped the Leon Zapateros, 7-5, at Ballpark of León. Zapopan third baseman Gonzalo Bañuelos was terrific. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The save was Ramón Pérez's, his 12th. With the victory, the Torrenas upped their record to 32-22.
Zapopan used the timely hitting of Pedro León to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Torrenas on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," León told the Zapopan Gazette.
