Despite a great performance by Zapopan catcher Pedro León, the San Luis Potosi Jardineros defeated the Torrenas by the score of 9-8 at San Luis Potosí Grounds. León went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. San Luis Potosi pitcher Lorenzo Fracso got the win, upping his record to 3-4. Ramón Pérez got the loss. The win elevated the Jardineros to 33-28.

The knockout blow came in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when designated hitter Augusto Patrio stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Patrio told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
