Chivas Rayadas Curb Mariachis, 3-1
|
The Guadalajara Chivas Rayadas went home winners at Ballpark of Guadalajara, thanks in large part to starter Félix Villalobas. Villalobas stifled the Ciudad Acuna Mariachis, enabling Guadalajara to grab the 3-1 win. Villalobas went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 8-3. Guadalajara is in third place in the Zona Norte with a record of 36-31.
Paco Mata drove in one run for Guadalajara. The 30-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ramón Villalobos. It was his 38th RBI of the season.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Mata.
