The Guadalupe Frijoles de Dios topped the Leon Zapateros, 2-1, in Alianza Beisbol Al Sur de la Frontera action at Ballpark of León. The standout performance belonged to Guadalupe pitcher and Chihuahua, Mexico, native Pedro Marrero. Guadalupe reliever Sergio Ochoa was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Mario Macías took the loss. Guadalupe is now 34-33.

Guadalupe used the timely hitting of António Villanueva to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Frijoles de Dios on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Marrero.
