Frijoles de Dios Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Guadalupe Frijoles de Dios had to overcome a fine performance from Queretaro pitcher Diego Quiñones to grab a 1-0 win at Desperados Ballpark. Quiñones allowed no runs over 8 innings. Guadalupe reliever Sergio Ochoa picked up the win to move to 5-1. Jorge Núñez suffered the loss. With the win, Guadalupe raised its record to 44-41.
Guadalupe used the timely hitting of Juan Manuel to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Frijoles de Dios on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Queretaro manager Francisco Rúbio.
