Hartford Ships Howe to Shin Seiki Monday, July 28th, 2025 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Hartford and Shin Seiki have made a swap with 26-year-old RF John Howe being shipped to the Evas and in return the Harpoon would get 35-year-old RHP Kata Nakamura. The Shin Seiki general manager said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Hartford organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. Howe is hitting .249 in 2025 with 29 RBIs and 6 home runs. This year Nakamura has recorded a 8-3 mark. In 19 starts he has fanned 80 batters in 108 innings with a 5.33 ERA. |
