Evas End Pope's Streak
Monday, September 6th, 2027
It was a doubly miserable day today for River Pope of the Aurora Borealis, as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end and his team lose 8-2 to the Shin Seiki Evas at Genesis Park. The 32-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Evas.

"Anyone on a 20-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Shin Seiki manager Paul Woods said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."

This year Pope has collected a .336 batting average to date with 119 hits in 354 at-bats, 42 RBIs, 3 home runs and scored 49 times. He has played in 88 games.
