Taguchi Cruises to Shutout Monday, September 25th, 2028 Shigenobu Taguchi kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Kentucky Thoroughbreds were all smiles after winning 2-0 against the Havana Leones at Campos Peloteros today. The right-handed Taguchi gave up no runs in his start, permitted 6 hits and had 2 strikeouts. "If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Taguchi said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be." Presently Taguchi has a 8-15 mark in 30 starts with a 3.55 ERA. He has given up 208 hits in 205.1 innings, struck out 118 and issued 36 walks.
