July's Starter of the Month Goes to Shirai Wednesday, August 1st, 2029 Takanobu Shirai's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 5-0 in July, the 31-year-old Okinawa hurler has been named Sovereign League Pitcher of the Month. He fanned 23 in 45.1 innings, logged an ERA of 0.79 and allowed opponents to hit .213 against him. In 22 starts this season Shirai has notched a 9-6 record and a 3.23 ERA. |
