Saito Suspended by League Monday, March 19th , 2040 Ryosei Saito's disrobing act in yesterday's loss to the Crystal Lake Sandgnats at Spring Ballpark cost him a 2-game suspension. The league office informed the Toyama Wind Dancers today that their second baseman would be suspended for "his poor conduct and unacceptable behavior that made a farce out of the game." After being called out on strikes, Saito was ejected by the home plate umpire after a heated and animated discussion. In protest for the ejection, he proceeded to throw his bat down, take off his batting gloves, cap, shirt, socks and shoes and left them at home plate, refusing to pick them up. Asked about the suspension, Saito sheepishly told reporters, "I did a stupid and embarrassing thing. Let's just leave it at that." |
