Baca Boosts Hit Streak to 25 Games Friday, April 27th , 2040 Chalk up another one for Charleston Statesmen left fielder Augusto Baca. He now has hit in 25 straight games. Baca went 3-for-4 today's game at Stadium Urbanus but saw his club defeated 13-5 by the host Amsterdam Lions. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Statesmen manager Luis Salars said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Augusto Baca flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year Baca is hitting .419, produced 7 RBIs and 2 home runs, scored 10 times and gotten on base at a .455 rate. |
