Steve Hambleton, the Raleigh El Dorados 23-year-old first baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Appalachian Mountain League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 10 hits in 21 at-bats, compiling a .476 average with 1 home run and 9 RBIs. Hambleton is hitting .276 this year with 21 home runs and 59 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .338, 18 walks and scored 48 times. |
