Yip Grabs AML Reliever of the Year Award Tuesday, October 18th , 2039 Gui-fei Yip was a calming influence out of the Eindhoven Electric bullpen this season. His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 25-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Appalachian Mountain League Reliever of the Year Award for 2039. The Wuhan, China native won the award with 47 saves in 59 relief appearances, 89 strikeouts in 64.1 innings and a record of 2-4 to go with his 1.54 ERA. He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 32. Dave Briggs of the Joplin Red Racers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Bob Hodge of the Raleigh El Dorados finished third with 2 first place votes.
