Mohicans Star Wins 2039 Outstanding Pitcher Award Friday, October 21st , 2039 The Appalachian Mountain League has heralded José Salas of the Mansfield Mohicans as the #1 man on the mound for the 2039 campaign. This year's Outstanding Pitcher Award winner stood out by running up an impressive 16-6 record, holding opposing hitters to a .219 batting average and posting a 2.41 ERA. The 24-year-old hurler tossed 201.1 innings, gave up 160 hits, fanned 143 and issued 36 walks. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 32. Teo Beerens of the Beantown Browns finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Johnny Arthur of the Joplin Red Racers finished third with 9 first place votes.
