West Valley City's Watanabe Top Pitcher in April Tuesday, May 1st , 2040 Yoshiaga Watanabe of West Valley City had an award-winning April as he took home the Rocky Mountain League Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Watanabe's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in April except for Yoshiaga." Watanabe was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 4-0 record in 5 starts. He struck out 27 batters in 31.1 innings and kept opponents to a .167 batting average. |
