Time to Go: Flores to Retire in Thornton Thursday, May 3rd , 2040 Thornton right fielder Tomás Flores won't be back next year. The 40-year-old announced plans today to retire at the end of the 2040 campaign, saying that it was time to call it a career. "I could probably play another year," Flores said, "but I don't have that fire you need to play well. And I'm not going out there on those terms. It's a disservice to the Sun Dogs and baseball in general. There are just too many aches and pains in this old body for me to continue playing." For his career, Flores is hitting .260 with 177 homers, 736 RBIs and 1895 hits. |
