Simons Clobbers 3 HR Against Spell Swords Wednesday, August 3rd , 2039 Ikari Warriors first baseman Oscar Simons sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Lodoss Spell Swords, Simons told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Simons pushed the Warriors past the Spell Swords, 8-1. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Simons told reporters after the game. Oscar Simons hit a two-run home run off Robert Egan in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Robert Egan in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Iwane Kaneko in the 7th. Batting .250 to date, Simons has 40 home runs and 83 RBIs. |
