Navarro Pops 3 Out of the Park Against Stampede Wednesday, August 3rd , 2039 It was a day for the record books for Brampton Camels right fielder Mario Navarro, who walloped three out of Ballpark of Calgary against the Stampede. However, not even a three-homer game could prevent the Stampede from taking the 13-11 victory. "We threw some good pitches and they hit 'em, and we made some bad pitches and they hit 'em. That's a good strategy for losing ballgames," Brampton skipper Kazu Sakei joked after the loss. Navarro still had a few opportunities to celebrate along the way. He was 4-for-5 for the day, batting in 10 runs and scoring 3 times. "I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs," Navarro said. "I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time." Mario Navarro hit a three-run home run off Ánibal Muñíz in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Eduardo Guandique in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Eduardo Guandique in the 9th. So far this year, Navarro is batting .250 with 13 home runs and 32 RBIs. |
