5-Hit Blitz by Martínez Sunday, August 28th , 2039 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Tony Martínez today -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at The Snow Dome, but the performance lost a little luster when the Frenchies were downed 7-6 by the Toyohira Fubuki. After his glittering performance, the Quebec City third baseman told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too," Martínez said. Tony Martínez singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Ryu Kunda in the 6th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 10th and grounded out in the 11th.
