Yakamochi Kobayashi Strokes 3 Home Runs Tuesday, August 30th , 2039 In a powerful performance that left the fans at Loggerdoggers Ballpark buzzing, Beaufort Loggerdoggers third baseman Yakamochi Kobayashi blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 6-3 win over the Inverness Highlanders. "Everything was clicking," Kobayashi told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them." Kobayashi shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Loggerdoggers manager John Mayer said. "Yakamochi played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game." Yakamochi Kobayashi hit a two-run home run off José Pineyro in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off José Pineyro in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Matthew Paterson in the 8th. So far this year in 85 games Kobayashi is hitting .288 with 21 home runs, 54 RBIs and 40 runs scored. |
