Thursday, April 19th , 2040
Lucas van Hal put on a hitting clinic today as the Delaware Diamonds dumped the Youngstown Thunder 7-6 at Ballpark of Deleware.
The Delaware right fielder made Youngstown defenders earn their pay, lashing Youngstown pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," van Hal said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Lucas van Hal walked in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit a three-run double in the 9th, walked in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 13th.
In 17 games this year van Hal has posted a .411 average and put up these numbers: 1 home run, 15 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
