Feng Razor-Sharp, Shuts Out Portsmouth Thursday, June 16th , 2039 The Portsmouth Dockhands manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Kingston Suns. The Dockhands were overpowered by Kingston starter Fu-quan Feng, who hurled his club to victory, 3-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Ed Henderson said. Over 9 innings, Feng blanked Portsmouth on 1 hit with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Feng said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." To this point in the season, Feng shows a 6-1 record, 12 starts, 78.2 innings, 83 strikeouts and a 3.20 ERA. View Boxscore |
