Márquez Goes on Rampage Against Battleships Monday, July 11th , 2039 The 5th time was not the charm for Manuel Márquez today. The third baseman for the Middle Bass Vintners hit the milestone today at Battleships Ballpark, but it was the Bismarck Battleships that salvaged a 6-4 victory. Márquez finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough. "He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Bismarck manager Jamie Bayles said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win." Márquez declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one." Manuel Márquez singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Adam MacKay in the 9th.
