Nagano Halts Randín's Hitting Steak Tuesday, August 9th , 2039 El Cajon defeated Nagano 2-1 today at Nagano Olympic Stadium, but saw the 25-game hitting streak of Virus first baseman Gustavo Randín snapped -- the Olympians held Randín hitless in 3 at-bats. "I enjoyed the streak," he said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the win today. That's all that really counts." For the year Randín has hit at a .304 clip with 48 RBIs, 11 home runs and 45 runs scored. |
