Barnes Twirls 10-0 Shutout
Wednesday, April 15th , 2037
It wasn't easy but the Purdue Astronauts made it look that way.
Starter John Barnes shut out the Georgetown Stonewalls despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Purdue Astronauts cruised to victory, 10-0. Barnes allowed only 4 hits and rang up 4 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
In 8 starts this season Barnes has fashioned a 5-2 record and a 1.65 ERA.
