League Suspends Garza and Hall for Fisticuffs Saturday, March 20th , 2038 Yesterday at Ballpark of Washington State José Garza and Jason Hall got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Washington State Palouse Knights and UAB Dragons. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Garza will have to sit out 4 while Hall would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Garza's current batting average stands at .333 and he has chalked up 2 home runs and 5 RBIs. This season Hall has claimed no saves and registered a 1-0 record with a 5.54 ERA. He has 2 relief appearances spanning 13 innings and has struck out 14. |
