Chili Peppers End López's Streak Thursday, April 8th , 2038 Sean López came rolling into today's game against the UCLA Chili Peppers with a 23-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at Flat Iron Field. The 19-year-old Colorado Herd right fielder went 0-for-3 against the Chili Peppers as the Herd fell, 6-5. "I swung at a couple pitches I probably shouldn't have and I didn't swing at a couple I probably should have," he said, grimacing. "But that's what makes a hit streak so impressive in the first place -- it only takes a couple mistakes to end it all." So far this year López has 4 home runs and a .308 batting average. |
