Hernández Rips 3 HR Friday, April 8th , 2039 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Persians-Old Queens game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Michigan State catcher Frank Hernández thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Michigan State to a 9-3 win over Rutgers. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Hernández said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Hernández was 3-for-4 on the day with 6 RBI. Frank Hernández flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mike Padgett in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Michael Mays in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Will Adams in the 8th. Hernández currently has a .343 batting average with 37 hits, 9 homers, 26 RBIs, 24 runs scored and a .415 OBP. |
