5-Hit Blitz by Gibbons Friday, April 15th , 2039 Jeff Gibbons was sizzling at the plate today. In a game played at Axe Ballpark, the Rutgers third baseman blistered the Stanford Axe for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 13-10 victory. "Gibbons was too tough to get out today," Axe skipper Rodney Tipton said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Jeff Gibbons hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Lloyd Reeves in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Jacob Shaffer in the 8th.
