Peter Roberts Out 13 Months With Injury Sunday, May 22nd , 2039 The East Carolina Sea Dawgs learned that Peter Roberts is likely to be out for 13 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Cincinnati Unifiers. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the East Carolina manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Peter is back in action." Up to now Roberts has compiled an ERA of 1.77 with a 7-3 mark over 12 starts. He has 51 strikeouts in 71.1 innings and has held opponents to a .203 batting average. |
