Top USCBA COL Hurler Honors Go to Romero Thursday, June 16th , 2039 Tony Romero of the UAB Dragons had a fine 6-1 season in 2039 and today claimed the United States Collegiate Baseball Association Outstanding Pitcher Award. He started 10 times, threw 65.1 innings while collecting 43 strikeouts and fashioned a 0.41 ERA. Romero allowed only 41 hits, 11 walks and a .180 opponents' batting average. He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 40. Rafael Quintero of the Northwestern Purple Haze finished second in voting with 14 first place votes, while Robbie McDowell of the Arizona Lutes finished third with 3 first place votes.
