Season Possibly Over for Aaron Melton Thursday, April 12th , 2040 The doctors have spoken and Aaron Melton of the Memphis Belles didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Melton sustained his season-ending injury during the East Carolina Sea Dawgs game yesterday at Sea Dawgs Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Memphis medical staff reported Melton had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10 months. Melton has made 6 relief appearances this year and notched 1 save. To date in 10.2 innings he has a 0-0 record, 5.06 ERA with 8 strikeouts and 9 walks. |
