Héctor Rúbio Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year Thursday, September 1st , 2039 The doctors have spoken and Héctor Rúbio of the Leon Zapateros didn't like what he heard. The 38-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Rúbio sustained his season-ending injury during the Guadalajara Chivas Rayadas game yesterday at Ballpark of León. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Leon medical staff reported Rúbio had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5-6 months. Rúbio has taken the mound for 11 relief appearances this season, nailing down 2 saves while notching a 0-1 record with a 1.93 ERA. The Leon reliever has limited opposing batters to a .255 batting average. |
