Marino Honored by LDBI-DOM WL as 2039 Best Rookie Saturday, December 31st , 2039 Today the Liga Dominicana de Beisbol Invernal announced that Azua left fielder Vicente Marino is the winner of the 2039 Newcomer of the Year Award. He finished the regular season with a .274 batting average, 9 doubles, 2 triples and 2 home runs. Marino also had 16 RBIs and scored 24 times. He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Lorenzo Tovar of the Puerto Plata Playas Dorada finished second in voting, while Roberto Mercayo of the Puerto Plata Playas Dorada finished third.
