Lyle Connects for 3 Homers for Kookaburras Friday, June 25th , 2038 North Sydney Kookaburras left fielder Andrew Lyle slugged three home runs against the Melbourne Bitters at The Nest, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Bitters spoiled his day by defeating the Kookaburras, 7-4. "The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Andrew had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," North Sydney manager Jason Brooks. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Andrew, he would have preferred a win." For the game, Lyle was 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Lyle said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too." Andrew Lyle hit a solo-shot off Kinnosuke Honma in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Kinnosuke Honma in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Kinnosuke Honma in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. On the year Lyle has hit .364 with 6 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 7 runs. |
