Bang-up Game: Takahashi Slams 3 Homers Monday, August 1st , 2039 Kokei Takahashi was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 13-7 Djibouti Soldato triumph at Ramses II Ballpark today. The 18-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Soldato past the Cairo Pharaohs. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Takahashi told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The left fielder went 4-for-5, rung up 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. Kokei Takahashi hit a three-run home run off Cheol-min Song in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Cheol-min Song in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Rafael Solíz in the 8th. For the season Takahashi is currently batting .268 with 10 home runs and 23 RBIs. In 38 games he has reached base at a .371 rate and scored 18 runs to date. |
