Kruit Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Monday, August 29th , 2039 Manuel Kruit exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Tagliero Stadium. The Khartoum left fielder had a field day in the 15-6 triumph over the Asmara Modernists, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Kruit must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Manuel Kruit singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jay degruchy in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Noel Lambright in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
