MacKay Tags 3 HR Against Raiders Monday, September 19th , 2039 William MacKay went yard three times in a Mogadishu Pirates victory over the Khartoum Raiders at Nasra Agil Stadium today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Mogadishu left fielder went 3-for-4 against Khartoum with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Pirates to the 10-1 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." William MacKay hit a solo-shot off Juan Rivero in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Juan Rivero in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off José Alba in the 7th. MacKay is batting .320 this year with 32 home runs, 78 RBIs and 60 runs scored. He has 71 hits in 222 at-bats. |
