The Kauai Monsters picked up a win at Foresters Ballpark, courtesy of Charles Slot. The left-hander helped his team stop the Kilauea Volcanoes, 3-1. Lloyd Willerton got credit for the save for Kauai. It was his 2nd of the year. The win lifts Kauai to a record of 3-2.

Paul Carruthers took Masamichi Nagai deep in the top of the sixth. His solo home run put the Monsters on top, 2-1. In all, Carruthers had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"I still think this team can play even better," Carruthers told the Kauai News.
