The Niigata Gigans overcame a good performance by Henderson catcher Roland Hicks to knock off Henderson, 10-8, at Ballpark of Henderson. Hicks was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The misery continues for the Fighting Scotts, which has now dropped 10 in a row.

Niigata relied on the bat of Sosa Hirano to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Gigans ahead, 10-8. For the game, Hirano had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"I've never been a good loser," admitted losing manager Rafael Germán, before walking out on reporters.
