Yamaguchi Fires 5-0 Shutout in Codgers Win
|
A favor to his bullpen. That's what Shigochiyo Yamaguchi was doing at Northern Lights Park today as he blanked the Aurora Borealis in a 9-inning complete game shutout.
"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Palm Springs Codgers right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."
Yamaguchi notched 6 strikeouts, surrendered no walks, allowed 3 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
So far this year Yamaguchi has compiled a 4-1 record with a 1.91 ERA.
