Shisa Deal Bears 7-5 Setback
With second baseman Pedro Rodríguez leading the charge, the Okinawa Shisa defeated the Bakersfield Bears, 7-5, at Shisa Stadium II. Rodríguez, who is a three-time All-Star, was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Juan Acosta, the winning pitcher, is now 4-3. He went 7 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 9 and walking 0. The Shisa are now 21-17, while the Bears fall to 14-25.

The Shisa got a lift from left fielder Takejiro Saikawa, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Shisa on top, 6-1.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Saikawa.
