Winds Fall to Wasilla, 16-4
|
The Wasilla Sledge Dogs beat the Taku Winds by a score of 16-4. Wasilla catcher Lúcio Pérez deserved the lion's share of the credit. Pérez belted 3 home runs. He drove in 12 runs and scored three times for the Sledge Dogs. Aarnoud Verlaan recorded his 3rd save for Wasilla. The victory gives the Sledge Dogs a record of 23-16.
With Wasilla leading 6-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Pérez came up to bat against Taku pitcher Man-su Hwang. Pérez hit a fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Sledge Dogs on top, 10-1.
"It was all gas and no brake on our side," said Pérez.
