The Hornets grabbed a win, 4-3, at Ligers Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Blanchard HS pitcher Wesley Kessler. Kessler went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs. Bishop Moore HS pitcher Eric Clark got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Wesley Kessler got the loss. Getting the save was Timothy Sanderson, his 2nd.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dennis Rodríguez? The Bishop Moore HS left fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hornets on top, 4-2. For the game, Rodríguez had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a solid team effort," said Rodríguez after the game.
Bishop Moore HS now sits in third place in the Eastern League Gulf Conference at 6-5.
