Blanchard HS took on Mobile Christian HS in front of a lively crowd.
Blanchard HS Ligers starter Héctor Reyes turned in a top-notch performance against the Mobile Christian HS Cheetahs at Mobile Ballpark. The result was a win for the Ligers, 3-1. Blanchard HS reliever Mark Foster was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Steve Gusmán took the loss.
Blanchard HS used the timely hitting of Ben Bennett to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ligers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Bennett said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
The win boosts the Ligers to 5-9. The loss puts the Cheetahs at 5-9.
