Spirited fans greeted the Blanchard HS Ligers for their clash with the Sarasota HS Sailors.
Sarasota HS rode a fine outing from starter Danny Garza to victory over the Blanchard HS Ligers at Ligers Ballpark. The final score was 7-2. Garza went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-0.
Elias Vail, the 18-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Vail contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Sarasota HS up, 3-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Garza.
The Sailors improve their record to 10-8 with the win over Blanchard HS.
